A-Level Results Day 2019: Long Road Sixth Form full results




Hard-working students and dedicated teachers at Long Road Sixth Form have been praised after the college achieved a “wonderful set of results” this year.

Whether in the arts or the sciences, students have achieved exceptionally well.

Biology sustained excellent performance with a 100 per cent pass rate and 37 per cent high grades A*-B, as did English language and literature with 40 per cent high grades A*-B.

A-level 3D design and painting wowed with a stunning 75 per cent high grades A*- B.

Across our rich curriculum, A-level art, graphics, textiles, biology, history, film, maths, photography, religious studies and Spanish have all achieved a very impressive 100 per cent pass rate.

The college’s overall A-level pass rate at 97 per cent despite the very significant challenges of the reformed two year linear A-levels.

The college’s Level 3 Applied Diploma students also achieved some outstanding successes with 100 per cent pass rates across many courses too including Applied Science, with 93 per cent of students achieving the highest distinction star (D*) grade and business with 85 per cent.

Other courses with excellent results were art & design, health and social care, ICT, graphics, musical theatre, photography and sport. The criminology course continues to excel into its second year, with a 99 per cent pass rate and 35 per cent of students achieving the highest A*- B grades.
