The overall pass rate was 100 per cent, while 94 per cent of the results were graded at 9-5, 41 per cent at 9-8, with an outstanding 21 per cent of grades being the top grade 9.

Nearly two-thirds of the grades were awarded at grade 7 and above, while 41 per cent of Leys pupils achieved 9 or more grade 7s and above.

Martin Priestley, headmaster of The Leys, said: “I am delighted with these results and on behalf of all my colleagues, both teaching and support staff - and on behalf of the governors - I am very pleased to congratulate the Year 11s on their success.

"In recent years, we have been focusing particularly hard on achieving excellence in our teaching and learning and these results are a testament to the success we have had in this regard.

"We are delighted to share these excellent grades, particularly coming on the back of last week’s stunning A-levels.

"They are the result of a real team effort between pupils, teaching staff, support staff and governors - and of course none of this could have been achieved without the strong support of our Leys parents.”

There were many individual successes including: Victoria Reid and Isabella Routledge scored the top grade 9 in all 11 of their subjects.

Isobel Etheridge, Evie Gifford, Matthew Hill, Edward Neville and Rory White all achieved 8 or more Grade 9s.
