Pupils at Monkfield Park Primary School in Cambourne dress to illustrate words for World Book Day

Do you have a favourite word? To celebrate World Book Day, children at Monkfield Park Primary School in Cambourne thought about the power of words and the impact they have on us when we are reading.

Instead of dressing up as book characters this year, they dressed to illustrate a word.

Among the words they chose were mythological, vibrant, ferocious, fragrant, adventurous, intrepid, aromatic, peaceful, exuberant, splendid, energetic, happiness and kindness.

Headteacher Annie Howell said: “The children really let their imaginations run wild as they dressed up to illustrate their favourite nouns and adjectives.”
