STEM party first for Children in Need
A STEM party to raise money for Children in Need was held at St Thomas More Catholic Primary School in Saffron Walden.
The event, on Thursday, November 18, was organised by Sandra Beale, who runs toddler and early years STEM sessions. The party was filmed by the BBC and covered by BBC Radio.
This is the first time a primary school has held a STEM party to raise funds for Children in Need – and the ‘Mad Scientists’ from Years 1 and 2 had lots of fun.
Sandra has been running free STEM sessions for babies, toddlers and early years from her home in Saffron Walden for the past eight years. What started as a way of entertaining her then nine-month-old son has become quite popular and is well known within Saffron Walden.
The sessions, which are held every Monday in Sandra’s house, have been shown on the BBC a few times. BBC Tiny Happy People also made a short film about them last year
