The Stephen Perse Foundation hosted more than 30 organisations, ranging from top universities to high-profile employers and charities, including Cambridge-based Costello Medical, Mills & Reeve solicitors and the British Army.

Allison Curry, head of guidance and careers at the Stephen Perse Foundation, said: “We would like to thank all the individuals and organisations who came to speak with and inspire our students.

“Students were also extremely lucky to attend subject and career-specific talks from school alumni and other professionals, including actors, lawyers and engineers, which allowed them to learn about degree routes, work experience and everything in between for their post-18 choices.”

One of the Year 12 students said: “The event helped me to understand that the course is more important than the university, and the importance of open days and visiting a university before deciding to go there.

“In addition, there was valuable advice on writing personal statements, whilst the careers fair piqued my interest in battery technology and gave me valuable information on the structure of universities like Oxford. Finally, it gave me some information on the ranking of universities, and which rankings should be trusted.”
