62 images we loved at Cambridge Camera Club's 2019 exhibition - and the people's choice winners
A stunning photograph of an arctic fox was the winner of the ‘People’s choice’ vote at Cambridge Camera Club’s 2019 exhibition, attended by nearly 1,000 people.
Held from Monday April 29 to Saturday May 4 at the Pitt Building in Trumpington Street, the show featured more than 250 prints and hundreds more images on screen.
Visitors were asked to select their favourite, with the highest number of votes going to Alan Linsdell’s image.
Alan said: “I was in an old mining town in Svalbard where there is a good population of arctic foxes.
“They are very inquisitive and will come close. I was lying on the ice and used a fixed focus 300mm lens.
“The light was great – the sun was low in the sky.”
Second in the voting from visitors to the Pitt Building was Ann Miles’ Red Sky in the Morning.
Ann also came third, with Cromer Pier in the Rain.
Chris Fell, president of the club, said 960 attended, up by 198 (26 per cent) on last year.
The Cambridge Independent was proud to support the awards for the third year running.
Here are a selection of our favourite images that went on show.
