Gavin Shelton FRSA, founder and CEO of the CoFarm Foundation, said: “Daniel was keen to come and say thank you to us all for everything we’ve been doing to tackle food insecurity in Cambridge during the pandemic in particular.

“Last year we donated about four-and-a-half tonnes of produce to nine community food hubs run in collaboration with Cambridge Sustainable Food and the city council.”

Mr Zeichner said: “What the CoFarm Cambridge team are doing is truly remarkable. From once again committing to donate all their produce to emergency food hubs across the city, to pioneering new ways to reduce health inequalities, boost biodiversity and create fairer, more inclusive local food systems, I commend them for their work.”

CoFarm aims to raise £58,000 by World Food Day on October 16 to cover their core costs as they continue to donate 100 per cent of their harvest to the hubs.
