British Restaurants Awards 2023 finalists in full: Cambridge restaurants shortlisted – plus 10 to compete for Best Cambridge Restaurant award
Midsummer House, Stem & Glory and Nanna Mexico in Cambridge are among those in the running at the fifth annual British Restaurant Awards.
Meanwhile, 10 city restaurants will vie for the title of Best Cambridge Restaurant at the awards, due to be held on September 5.
All the winners will be determined by public voting, with categories also including Best New Restaurant and Best Chef - with names like Gordon Ramsay, Ainsley Harriott, Gino D’Acampo, Aldo Zilli and Heston Blumenthal in the running.
Midsummer House, the two Michelin-starred restaurant on Midsummer Common run by Daniel Clifford, is shortlisted for Best Luxury Restaurant among names such as Bacchanalia, The Ritz and La Gavroche, all in London.
And it is also shortlisted for the Best Hospitality Team category.
Unsurprisingly, it makes the list of the 10 restaurants competing to be named Best Cambridge Restaurant, along with the likes of Vanderlyle, Trinity and Bedouin, the North African restaurant on Mill Road, which won the title last year.
Station Road-based Stem & Glory will be hoping to repeat its success from last year, when it took home the award for Best Vegan-Friendly Restaurant.
And Nanna Mexico, in Petty Cury, will vie for the title of Best Takeaway Restaurant at the national awards.
Chains with a Cambridge outlet are also represented in the Best Chain Restaurant category, including Zizzi and Honest Burgers.
This year’s awards are sponsored by Telephonos - a new social media network - and all the winners will be determined by voters registering at telephonos.com and voting by September 1, 2023.
