Find out at open day why University of Third Age in Cambridge has more than 2,000 members




The University of the Third Age in Cambridge (U3AC) is holding an open day for visitors to find out more about its many activities.

The free drop-in event requires no booking and will be held from 10am until 1pm on Thursday, July 6 at the U3AC offices at 27-28 Bridge Street in Cambridge, next to the Wildwood restaurant.

U3AC has more than 2,000 members and is open to anyone not in full-time employment.

It offers more than 300 courses and activities, from art to zumba, covering fitness, gardening, history, languages, literature, music, leisure, science and wellbeing.

Providing inspiration, education and social interaction, its recent courses have included ‘The uses and abuses of economics’, ‘Japanese cinema’, ‘Badminton for softies’, ‘Italian conversation’ and ‘Building the human brain’.

Courses are offered via Zoom where possible, as well as face-to-face, enabling members to participate from home if they prefer.

U3AC also offers two highly-regarded lecture series featuring internationally-renowned speakers, holds social events for members and offer trips to local places of interest.

Its 2023-24 programme, running from October 9, will be published in July.
