15-year-old arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after 18-year-old is stabbed in Cambourne

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, after an 18-year-old was stabbed in Cambourne.

Officers were called at 9.56pm on Friday night after reports of a stabbing in High Street.

Paramedics also attended and an 18-year-old was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, where he is understood to be in a serious but stable condition.

A police cordon remained in place around part of Morrisons' car park and the grassland outside on Saturday morning, while the nearby Monkfield Wood was also closed to the public on Saturday.

Forensics officers from the Cambridgeshire Constabulary's scientific services unit were on the scene collecting evidence.

Cambridgehire police have promised extra patrols in Cambourne over the weekend.
