Around 200 Cambridge Science Park employees pulled in the pounds by donning their best red outfits and white beards.

Participants were treated to a ‘Santa warm-up’ from Callum at Revolution Health & Fitness, before heading off around the 5km route, which made its way around the Science Park and parts of the guided busway.

They helped to raise a fantastic £3,094 for the Milton-based charity, with more expected to come in.

The Royal Society of Chemistry supported the December 12 event by providing volunteers and the society’s choir, Choirality, entered the runners.

Two further runs at Granta Park, a 2.5km route with inflatable obstacles, and Chesterford Research Park, a 3km route, have helped to swell the collective total to more than £10,000.

A team from Nuffield Health Gym provided the warm-ups at these events.

Emily Rose, Each Cambridgeshire corporate fundraising assistant, said: “Our Santa runs are always great festive fun and a fantastic way to raise much-needed funds.

“The event at Cambridge Science Park saw around 200 runners raise £3,094 and counting.

“Our other two runs at Granta Park and Chesterford Research Park saw, between them, some 300 runners raise almost £7,000.

“We’re so grateful to have had the support of these parks and hope to continue working with them for years to come.”

Each offers care and support for children and young people with life-threatening conditions and support families across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.
