80 pictures of the Cambridge Cambourne 10K and Fun Run 2023
The rescheduled Cambridge Cambourne 10K and Fun Run attracted hundreds of runners – and there was relief that this time the weather was kind.
The runs, organised by Cambridge and Coleridge Athletics Club, were due to take place in the springtime but were foiled by inclement weather. There was no such trouble this time, as runners enjoyed a picturesque course.
There are more fun run pics towards the end of this gallery. And you can view our full gallery of more than 200 pictures – and order JPEGS or prints – from our photo sales site. Visit here for the fun run images, and here for the 10K run pictures.
Gordon Aspin, race director of the Cambridge Cambourne 10K and Fun Run for Cambridge & Coleridge Athletics Club, said: “We were very pleased with the event on Sunday after having had to postpone the race at the last minute in April when the course was flooded following very heavy rains.
“This time the course was in excellent condition, as evidenced by the fast time of 34:03 posted by the winning male runner James Orrell from Huntingdonshire AC. Michelle Prior from March AC was the fastest woman in 41:19.
“The race is run on undulating gravel trails in Cambourne and we had lots of very positive comments from the runners on the helpful marshaling – shout out here to all the marshals including the local cadets – with the large medal design particularly appreciated by the junior fun runners.
“The race is organised by Cambridge and Coleridge AC with support from Cambourne Town Council and a generous donation from Cambourne developers The Hill Group – any surplus goes to local charities.”
The 10K and fun run took place on Sunday, September 24.
