A-level results day 2024: Comberton Sixth Form students achieve ‘fantastic’ results




A fantastic set of A-level results has been achieved by students at Comberton Sixth Form with many off to study for roles in the NHS and education.

Among the individuals to be celebrating is Emily, who achieved an amazing three A* grades in mathematics, biology and chemistry. She has been accepted to read veterinary medicine at the University of Cambridge.

Nicole and Rothia both gained the highest of grades possible of D*D*D* in BTEC Health and Social Care (Level 3 Extended Diploma). Nicole has been accepted to study podiatry and Rothia leaves to train as a nurse.

Harry will be taking up a place to read natural sciences at King’s College, London, after gaining an A* and two A grades in mathematics, chemistry and biology.

Caitlin will be heading off to read experimental psychology at University College, Oxford, after securing A*, A and A grades.

Tom gained A, B and C grades in his A-levels (with an additional B grade in core maths) to secure his degree apprenticeship in accountancy.

Deputy principal David Clarke, who is also the sixth form director, said: “We are really pleased with Comberton Sixth Form’s fantastic overall 2024 A-level and BTEC results. Our students should be very proud of their achievements and looking forward to their next steps.

“We had very high numbers of students applying for university, apprenticeship and degree apprenticeship courses this year and there are so many individual stories of success.

“As always, there are a small number of Comberton Sixth Form students who need support with their next steps and these students are working with staff to secure appropriate pathways.

“The vast majority of those who applied to university through UCAS have been successful in gaining places at either their first or insurance choice universities.”
