The Give a Gift this Christmas Appeal has been launched by Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust.

Gemma Downham, ACT’s director of fundraising, said: “Our new appeal gives the public a chance to make Addenbrooke’s even better for patients and staff, allowing us to support the hospital and make it a nicer place to be at this time of year.”

From soothing hand massages to ease pain and distress and cosy clothing which keeps elderly patients warm and encourages them to keep mobile, to special sensory play equipment to amuse a child in hospital over Christmas, the special appeal allows supporters to choose a gift and show patients that they care.

Supporters can also donate £5 to help buy refreshments to keep A&E staff going during the busy winter months.
