Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge caring for more than 90 patients with Covid-19

The number of Covid-19 patients at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge remains high, although it has fallen week-on-week.

There were 93 patients with the virus on its wards on Thursday (April 14). Of those, seven were in critical care and there were six inpatients waiting for Covid-19 test results.

The number was down from the 117 Covid-19 patients on its wards on Friday (April 8), which was a 14-month high.

The end of universal free testing on April 1 means that official figures no longer give a full picture of the prevalence of the virus in the community.

Packs of lateral flow tests can be purchased for a few pounds, but the number of tests being carried out and reported has declined dramatically.
