The store has been extended, creating 20 additional jobs.

Open hours

Monday – Saturday: 8:00am – 10:00pm

Sunday: 10:00am – 4:00pm

Team GB Olympic gold medallist, Hannah Macleod cut the ribbon at 8am to over 250 onlookers.

Macleod was part of the winning women's hockey team at Rio, and played for St Ives Hockey Club. She handed out golden tickets with manager of the Aldi store, James Huett, to the first 100 people in the queue, with one lucky winner walking away with a 40 inch television.

Mr Huett said:"The team and I would like to thank everyone who came along to enjoy our reopening event this morning. It was great to see both recognisable and new faces in the queue. The in-store deals proved very popular with our customers, and we look forward to welcoming more customers to the store in the coming months."
