The first delivery was completed on December 7 from a Prime Air Fulfillment Centre in Cambridgeshire.
The service aims to deliver small packages in less than 30 minutes.
The electric Amazon drones are completely autonomated and guided by GPS. They cruise at just below 400ft carrying packages weighing under 5lb.
Although this was just a trial, Amazon have two customers in Cambridgeshire that are effectively beta testing the service, aiming to expand it in the future.
The Civil Aviation Authority has said that drones could be used for many applications in the future, delivering organs to hospitals or medical equipment to accident scenes.
