Animus Puppetry out and about in Cambridge as part of Cambridge Festival’s Family Weekend

Puppeteer Jodie Smith was out and about in Cambridge city centre over the weekend as Norwich-based Animus Puppetry introduced some of its very realistic handmade animal puppets to the people – and real-life animals – of Cambridge.

The walkabout was part of the Cambridge Festival’s Family Weekend, and saw Jodie take the puppets along King’s Parade and also into the market square and the surrounding area.

Jodie said: “It was good; the Cambridge Festival booked me to come along and basically do some walkabout street theatre.

“I make puppets and I brought three along for the weekend, so there was a goat, a dinosaur and a hare. They were just roaming around, because obviously children are very drawn to that sort of thing.”
