Arrest made as man in his 20s is left in life-threatening condition at Addenbrooke’s in Cambridge following A1 collision
A man in his 20s is in a life-threatening condition at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge following a collision on the A1 between a van and a lorry.
The man was a passenger in a dark blue Vauxhall Vivaro which was in collision with an HGV on the southbound carriageway of the A1 at Stibbington at about 7.20am today (Thursday, 6 March).
The driver of the van, a man in his 50s, was taken to Peterborough City Hospital with minor injuries and has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in hospital.
The driver of the lorry was not injured.
Sgt Duncan Hall, from the road policing unit, said: “We are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw either vehicle in the moments leading up to the incident. We would also like to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage to come forward.”
