AstraZeneca and MedImmune helping to raise awareness with Blue Smile
Staff at AstraZeneca and MedImmune in Cambridge held a bike seat flash mob at their sites across the city to raise awareness of city-based charity, Blue Smile.
Employees dashed into action at midday on Tuesday at six sites across Cambridge, and armed with Blue Smile bike seat covers, the flash mobsters had just one hour to place the covers on as many bike seats as possible in their locations.
The covers help to tell the story of Blue Smile, a charity dedicated to helping young people in the county, and to raise awareness during Mental Health Awareness Week (May 14-20).
Sabine Jaccaud, director of Cambridge communications at AstraZeneca, said: “AstraZeneca and MedImmune are working with Blue Smile throughout 2018 on various activities by fundraising, raising awareness and mentoring. Blue Smile was chosen as our Cambridge charity of the year from a number of organisations nominated by staff, and their work complements our community focus on science, health and care.”
Rebecca Wood, chief executive of Blue Smile, said: “Everyone at Blue Smile is proud to have the support of AstraZeneca and MedImmune.”
