BBC announces general election debate from Cambridge

Senior figures from the Conservatives, Labour, Liberal Democrats, SNP, Plaid Cymru, Green Party and UKIP are expected to take part.

Seven senior politicians will face-off in Cambridge in the run-up to the snap General Election on June 8.

The debate will be held on May 31, moderated by Mishal Husain.

Jonathan Munro, head of BBC Newsgathering, said: “It is firmly in the public interest for audiences to hear from those seeking election. We know they connect with these formats because they are a public moment to focus on and audience members from all across the country get the chance to ask politicians their own questions.”
