Body of a woman found in River Cam in Grantchester

The body of a woman has been found in the River Cam in Grantchester.

Police confirmed she was found in the river near to Grantchester Tea Rooms at 8.45am today (Wednesday June 9).

A police spokesperson said: “Emergency services attended the scene and she was declared dead a short while later.

“There are no suspicious circumstances at this time and the case will be passed to the coroner.”

No further details have yet been released.
