Brand new development Romans’ Edge in Godmanchester appeals to wide range of buyers
Giving new homes an Edge
Built by Barratt Homes, Romans' Edge is a brand new development situated minutes away from the historic town of Godmanchester.
The spacious two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, located off Bearscroft Lane, cater for everyone, from first time buyers looking to get on to the property ladder, to growing families seeking more space.
The development will feature 753 homes in total (263 of which will be social) and is located near plenty of green open space.
The scheme also benefits from the facilities of Godmanchester - a town with a selection of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.
Romans' Edge is also close to Huntingdon Railway Station, convenient for those looking to commute into London. The A1, A14 and the M11 are also accessible.
Alison Raine, sales director at Barratt Homes Northampton, said:"Romans' Edge is a fantastic new development located close to Godmanchester. It combines easy access to the major towns and cities in the area, including Huntingdon, Peterborough and Cambridge, while also offering the opportunity to enjoy the nearby countryside with plenty of walks located near to the development. With a wide range of homes, there's something for everyone here and we look forward to welcoming our first residents to the site very soon.
The sales centre at the development launched on Saturday, September 3, and since then the site has become extremely popular with local homebuyers. Having already sold 11 homes since the launch, anyone interested is urged to get in touch with the sales advisers to see what homes are available and also for details regarding the next phase, which is set to launch in 2017.
The first homeowners will be able to move into their brand new homes this month.
The new properties are available using the government's Help to Buy Scheme, under which only a five per cent deposit is needed.
Each of the homes could also prove to be 55 per cent more energy efficient than an upgraded Victorian home, meaning a lot of money could be saved on energy bills.
Every quality-built home features external cavity walls which incorporate heat-reflecting, low-emissive technology.
They use smart techniques, such as insulated roofs, special double glazing and airtight doors to ensure that draughts won't make your house cold over the winter.
Jointly with its sister company David Wilson Homes, which is also building at the development, Barratt Homes contributed more than £10million to local authorities in Godmanchester via its Section 106 agreement, which will go towards education in the local area, a Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) contribution, bus service provision, community facilities and ramp metering to the A14.
