Busway services to remain running while repairs are undertaken

Work to replace bearings set to take place this month

Work to carry out necessary repairs on part of the Guided Busway will take place this month.

Services will be running as normal while work to replace bearings is carried out over the next few weekends. Some diversions will be in place.

Work will take place between Longstanton and Oakington from midnight on March 9 until 5am on March 12.

A diversion for Busway services will be in place between Longstanton Park & Ride and Station Road, Oakington, the bus stops at both Longstanton and Oakington will remain open.

The maintenance track will remain open.

Further repairs to the busway will happen between Station Road, Histon, and Milton Road. These will take place from midnight on March 16 until 5am on March 19 again from midnight on March 23, until 5am on March 26.

Various stops in this area will be closed and alternatives will be in use as follows:

Histon – North bound stop unaffected

Histon - Cambridge bound stop closed – alternative stop in Cambridge Road outside Anglia fireplaces

Orchard park west stops closed – alternative stops on Histon Road.

Cambridge Regional College stops closed – alternative stops on Kings Hedges Road opposite the college

Orchard park east stops closed – alternative stops on Kings Hedges Road opposite Cambridge Regional College

Science Park stops closed – no alternative stops

The stagecoach N service which calls at Cambridge North railway station will divert at Histon along the A14 and into the railway station then follow the normal route into the City.

The maintenance track will be closed over both of these weekends while the work is happening.
