The annual event, sponsored this year by Illumina and organised by Cambridge City Council, is one of the largest free displays in the region.

The fireworks display will start at 7pm and has been designed by multi award-winning company, Pains Fireworks. Once the display has concluded then the bonfire will be lit.

There will be several roads closed around Midsummer Common during the event as well as a one way system in place for some roads around the common.

The closures will be in place between 6.30pm and 9.45pm and the one way system in place between 6.30pm and 8.45pm.

Those heading to the event, which draws thousands of people from across the area, are “strongly advised” to walk, cycle or use public transport to get to the event.

Accessible parking for the event will be at Jesus College. However, parking is limited and stewards will be on-site to assist. Anyone using the accessible car park must arrive before 6pm and you will exit onto Jesus Lane, leaving via Bridge Street. The ANPR camera there is suspended until 9pm.

The event will also feature two accessible viewing areas. The first is in the Marquee by the path, this is a covered area, and the second viewing area is right at the front of the display area, but is uncovered.
