Cambridge church community hall reopens after refurbishment

The newly refurbished and extended St John’s Community Centre on Hills Road was officially opened by the Bishop of Ely at the weekend.

The Rt Rev Stephen Conway and the mayor of Cambridge, Cllr Gerri Bird, opened the centre on Saturday, September 28, in the presence of other councillors, community members and education and civic leaders.

Located at St John the Evangelist Church, the centre, which was built in 1995, took the opportunity at the opening to showcase community organisations, host performances by local choirs and provide some refreshments.
