Cambridge companies mark Movember
There has been a lot of facial hair on show recently at Cambridge Design Partnership and at Amazon.
Men at the two firms grew a mo to raise money for the Movember Foundation, supporting men’s health.
At CDP in Toft, 17 men took part and the £1,000 raised so far will be matched by the company.
CDP partner Jez Clements said: “In between odd looks in the street, some awkward first glances from clients and some comedy office pictures, we are proud to have promoted the issue of men’s health and raised some cash.
“We all know someone who has struggled with health issues, and it feels good to do something to help.”
Some 45 volunteers at Amazon’s Cambridge Development Centre gave their razors a rest to raise more than £3,000.
They also enjoyed cake and book sales, pub quizzes, rooftop golf and team lunches to raise money.
David Hardcastle, senior manager at the development centre, said: “I’m really proud of everyone on the team in Cambridge and their efforts to raise money and awareness for Movember.”
