Cambridge Dragon Boat Festival 2025 opens for entries in aid of Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust
Entries are now open for the popular Cambridge Dragon Boat Festival.
Now in its 19th year, the 2025 event will see teams from across Cambridgeshire come together at Fen Ditton by the River Cam to raise funds for Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT).
Following the success of this year’s event, which raised an impressive £37,000, next year’s festival – on Saturday, 13 September – promises a day of fun, all in support of a vital cause.
Natasha Robertson, corporate partnerships manager at ACT, said: “The 2024 event was such a fantastic day with an amazing atmosphere. The event raised a staggering £37,000, with 41 teams competing and having fun on the Cam.
“Once more this event will help raise money for the new Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital. In 2025 ACT is celebrating its 30th birthday, and we want to make sure we celebrate big and make the Dragon Boat Festival the biggest and best yet.
“By taking part in the Cambridge Dragon Boat Festival, teams will help ACT to change the story of cancer – which is something to celebrate together.”
Lucy Morton, executive director at NewWave Events, added: “The Cambridge Dragon Boat Festival is such a unique opportunity for both seasoned and new teams to experience the thrill of racing, with full equipment and guidance provided, making it accessible for everyone.
“We have a full day of activities planned along the riverbank to keep teams and spectators entertained, from food stalls and entertainment to fantastic prizes, including a special mini golf experience with bubbly, and tear and share pizzas for the top fundraisers, courtesy of The Tivoli in Cambridge.”
