Cambridge drug dealer caught after car insurance check
A motorist who was stopped for having no insurance has been jailed after a search of his car discovered cocaine and cannabis.
Fabio Gjiza, 26, was stopped in his Volkswagen Polo by an officer in Newmarket Road, Cambridge, at about 1.30am on March 10.
Checks found he was not on the car’s insurance and held an Albanian driving licence.
A search of the car and Gjiza found 13 wraps of cannabis, a smartphone and £375 in cash.
Six bags of cocaine worth about £240 were also later found in the Polo.
On Thursday (May 11), Gjiza, of no fixed address, was jailed for one year and three months, having pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession with intent to supply class B drugs.
DC Molly Halksworth said: “Gjiza was dealing dangerous drugs in and about Cambridge so I am glad he has faced justice.
“Drugs cause so much damage to everyone who comes into contact with them so I am pleased another dealer has been taken off the streets.”
