A Cambridge entrepreneur is set to ramp up his clothing brand by launching a series of concert nights at the Junction.

Matt Maynard, who graduated from Anglia Ruskin University, is building on the experience gained from organising student club nights to help grow his DUSK clothing brand.

It is already endorsed by musical artists and footballers as well as celebrities including Gok Wan.

DUSK will host its first concert in Cambridge on October 3 at the Junction where the headliners will be UK artists D-Block Europe, with support from Youtube sensations AJ and Deno. Tickets for the concert, open to ages 14-plus, will be on sale at junction.co.uk.

Matt, 24, said: “I studied at Anglia Ruskin from 2012 to 2015. I used to work as an ambassador for numerous student club nights around Cambridge and I knew enough people to put on an event for the students, so I started my own event called DUSK in 2016.

“On the first student club night I organised, I had made around 20 T-shirts for my friends to make them feel part of it all. It was a basic DUSK written on the front of a T-shirt.

“But everyone who came to the first event wanted to know where they could get the T-shirts from so for the second event I made some T-shirts for sale and it snowballed from there.

“It is now a standalone business. All sales are made through the website and I have orders from America, Holland and as far as Pakistan, as well as a lot of UK orders.

“I have had celebrity endorsements from Gok Wan, footballer David Luiz and music artists. They have all helped spread the word.

“I work as events and marketing administrator for ARU and I landed this job straight after graduating. But I am now starting my new project at the Junction, which is a series of concert evenings under the DUSK umbrella.

“The clothing brand will be the main focus which will be on sale on the night and one day I hope to take it a full-time business.”
