Cambridge estate agents reach out to Londoners seeking country homes
Cheffins and Carter Jonas are holding events to encourage people from the capital to buy properties in rural Cambridgeshire and the surrounding area.
Cheffins is to showcase some of its best properties at the prestigious London & Country Property Show next month, an annual event previously known as ‘The Move to the Country Show’.
Taking place on Wednesday, May 10 at Chelsea Town Hall, the exhibition is hosted by The London Office – in conjunction with Country Life magazine – and attracts hundreds of property investors from across the UK.
Country homes from the most desirable counties take pride of place alongside London property, with the aim of attracting those looking to move to the countryside from the capital, as well as those looking to invest in property.
Cheffins will be hosting a stand in a prominent location at the event and will be talking to buyers keen to invest in property in our region.
Commenting on the importance of the show to his firm, Bruce King, a director at the agency, said: “Following last year’s event, we saw a significant uplift in interest and increased enquiries in the properties which we showcased at Chelsea Town Hall. The show gives our clients’ properties an invaluable profile boost early in the selling season and illustrates the importance of exposing them to a London audience.
“The purchasing power from those moving out of the capital continues to be one of the key drivers in our markets across the region and we are incredibly fortunate to be able to harness these buyers and to promote our homes for sale to them on an annual basis at the exhibition.
“We are positive that this year’s event will be a significant success and we are looking forward to being able to demonstrate the best of what Cheffins has to offer.”
Meanwhile, Carter Jonas Cambridge is to host an annual London to Country Showcase, also in the capital.
Spring signifies a traditionally busy period in the property market, with many homeowners who have been considering a move now bringing their homes to market.
To help meet this increased demand, Carter Jonas Cambridge is partnering with two of its most prominent offices in the capital – Mayfair and Wandsworth – to host an annual showcase of some of its finest properties for sale in and around Cambridge. This represents a prime opportunity for homeowners considering putting their homes on the market.
Agents from Carter Jonas Cambridge will be on hand to meet with potential buyers, interpret their wish list and introduce them to a carefully selected portfolio of properties.
Jason Corbett, head of residential sales at Carter Jonas Wandsworth, said: “Spring is proven to be a busy period for the property market, particularly among London homeowners who are considering a move out of the capital.
“The London to Country Showcase is an optimum platform from which to market a property, and we have had great success historically in matching Londoners to their perfect property in Cambridge and the Eastern counties.
“The event will take place on April 27 in Wandsworth and Mayfair, and appointments have been filling up since the beginning of the year.
“We look forward to showcasing the calibre of properties that we have for sale in the local area.”
Richard Hatch, head of residential agency at Carter Jonas Cambridge, added: “I would urge anyone planning to put their house on the market in the Cambridge area to do so ahead of the event, to maximise its visibility in front of a brand new tranche of buyers, many of whom are exploring their options outside of London for the first time.”
