Cambridge home closed for three months following anti-social behaviour
A Cambridge home has been issued with a closure order following recent anti-social behaviour.
The order was issued to 20a Rawlyn Road, Cambridge, on Friday (2 May) after a successful application from Cambridgeshire Police to Cambridge Magistrates’ Court.
The action came as a result of frequent reports of anti-social behaviour coming from the address.
A closure order was granted and the property will be partially closed for three months.
PC Lauren Rouse explained: “Residents living in the surrounding streets of the property have endured no end of anti-social behaviour.
“The closure order allows the tenants to remain living at the address but will prevent those who have been attending to commit anti-social behaviour and other criminal offences.”
A closure order, issued by a magistrates’ court upon application by the police or local authority, prohibits access to a property for a set period.
This closure order states that the house be partially closed in accordance with the Anti-Social Behaviour and Policing Act 2014. No one is permitted to enter except the tenant and emergency services until 1 August 2025.
If anyone is found on the premises unlawfully they render themselves liable for arrest.
