Cambridge man, 32, arrested on suspicion of rape after city centre attack report

A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape following reports that a woman was attacked in Cambridge.

The woman, who is in her late teens, told officers she was attacked in the early hours of Wednesday, October 13 in Market Square.

She is being supported by specially trained officers.

Police cordoned off a scene in Market Square, launched an investigation and the man, who is from Cambridge, was arrested.

He was taken to Huntingdon Police Station and has since been bailed until Tuesday, November 9.
