Cambridge man kicked in head and knocked unconscious in violent attack in market square
A 36-year-old man from Cambridge was kicked in the head and knocked unconscious in a violent attack in the early hours in the city’s market square.
Police have arrested five men, aged 28, 29, 26 and 36, from Bedford, Cambridge and Leicester on suspicion of affray. They have since been released under investigation and police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
The incident happened at around 3am on Wednesday July 21.
The man who was knocked unconscious was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital with minor injuries and has since been discharged.
A police spokesperson said: “This was an extremely violent attack where one person was kicked in the head multiple times and was fortunate to not receive more serious injuries.
“A number of witnesses are known to have been present and their assistance could have a significant impact on this case.”
