When the woman called police, he fled, taking a knife with him.

He had left by the time officers arrived but continued to call her and leave threatening voicemails until Wednesday, 10 April.

Thomas, of Peter Cowell Close, was jailed on 12 August at Cambridge Crown Court for 24 weeks, having pleaded guilty to harassment with fear of violence, which breached a suspended sentence.

A count of burglary related to the incident, which Thomas denied, will lie on file.

Det Con Timothy Taylor said: “This was a terrifying experience for the victim so I welcome the sentence handed to Thomas.

“Domestic abuse is a force priority so we will always look to put perpetrators in front of the courts.”
