The visit follows the restaurant's success at both the Food Awards England and the English Curry Awards.

The Labour MP, who said he is a long-time supporter of the Mill Road restaurant, popped in on Friday (November 2).

“I am delighted that Prana Indian restaurant has won yet more awards at a national level,” he said. “Their success really is well deserved and I would like to congratulate Kobir and all the staff that contribute to the restaurant’s success.

“Cambridge is home to so many great restaurants and eateries and I am pleased the city is getting the national recognition.”

This year, the restaurant received the awards for Best Indian establishment at the Food Awards 2018, collecting the south-east region and national titles.

In September, Prana also scooped Chef of the Year for the south in the highly acclaimed English Curry Awards.
