Over 300,000 passengers have used the station.

Daniel Zeichner, MP for Cambridge, says that Cambridge North Train Station is “on the right track” on the one year anniversary of its opening.

The Labour MP, who is a member of the Commons Transport Select Committee, is expecting demand to continue to increase.

Mr Zeichner said: “I am very pleased that over 300,000 passengers have passed through the barriers in the year since it opened.

“With the weekly averages increasing, at a time when national rail usage is falling, that says to me that the station is on the right track and I expect more and more people will use it, particularly as the area around the station is developed.

“I regularly use the station to get down to London and I find it quick and easy to navigate. And when I speak to businesses over on the Science Park, they tell me that their staff are using the station.

“As the Science Park expands in the coming years, I expect we will see the number of people using the station increase significantly.“

Cambridge North Train Station was open on 21st May 2017.
