Cambridge's Mill Road Winter Fair to attract thousands - and here are details of road closures
The charming and atmospheric fair returns to the city
Known for its special charm and atmosphere, the annual Mill Road Winter Fair returns this weekend.
Organised by a small team of Cambridge residents who work together in preparation throughout the year, the popular event will take place on Saturday, December 2, from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
It will feature a host of stalls and attractions, from food and drink to arts and crafts.
As more than 10,000 people are expected to attend, Mill Road will be closed from East Road to Coleridge Road – including to cyclists – on Saturday between 9am and 5.30pm.
Diversions will be signposted and the parts of Mill Road not affected will be open to traffic, as will the adjoining streets.
These closures ensure that visitors to the fair can enjoy the day in a safe and comfortable atmosphere.
In some cases, the flow of traffic in adjacent streets will be different from normal and some road barriers which are usually closed will be open on the day.
The Mill Road Winter Fair organisers also advise people to be vigilant as there are “occasional traffic movements including the possibility of movements from the emergency services”.
