Cambridge young people join Global Climate Strike




Hundreds of young people supported by adults have marched through Cambridge today (Friday, September 20) to demand action over climate change.

Crowds met at Shire Hall at 9.30am, before marching to King’s Parade where they are holding at ‘die-in’ at 11.15am.

A further rally will be held in King’s Parade at 6pm.

The School Strike 4 Climate is part of the week long Global Climate Strike.

From today until Friday, September 27, school and college students around the world will go on strike to demand stronger action on climate change.

Vigils will be held from 5pm every evening in King’s Parade next week.

Also involved is Cambridge Tech Climate Action Network (CTCAN), a group of engineers and technologists who formed this month to highlight the need to ensure that Cambridge science keeps sustainability goals in mind.
