Sally Nott, client services manager for the charity, said the event was very well attended and presented an opportunity for other organisations to network.

“It was the first time we’ve done anything of this nature and it was incredibly successful,” she said.

The event was open to anyone affected by low vision and blindness; hearing loss and deafness or dual sensory loss.

Sally explained that around 20,000 people in Cambridgeshire are affected by some form of sight loss – and as the population grows that number is also expected to increase.
