Cambridgeshire GCSE results day 2018
Published: 05:00, 23 August 2018
GCSE students are set to find out how they performed in their exams today (Thursday, August 23).
Schools across Cambridgeshire will open their doors for pupils to receive their grades from 9am.
Those unable to attend school will have their results sent by post.
For many, it will determine which sixth form or college they attend and what A-level or BTEC courses, or apprenticeships they can take.
This year, pupils will receive numerical grades instead of the previous A*-G marks in another batch of subjects.
Last summer, students sat the new exams in just English language, English literature and maths.
The reforms are part of a move to make the qualification tougher.
By 2020, all GCSE subjects will be graded on a new scale from 9 to 1, with 9 being the highest grade.
