Work will close Cambridgeshire guided busway this weekend

Part of the guided busway will be closed this weekend with both buses and cyclists having to use an alternative route.

Cambridgeshire County Council, which maintains the route, says essential work will be taking place.

A spokesperson said all bus services will be running as normal, but buses and cyclists will have to follow a diversion.

Most of the work will be between Station Road, Histon, and the Orchard Park junction, which is currently closed for the A14 bridge work. A further closure will be in place between Cambridge Regional College and Milton Road.

Closures will be from 11.59pm today, August 9, until the morning of Monday, August 12 – opening in time for the first bus service.

Both the A and D services will be re-routed through Kings Hedges Road, and call at the on-road bus stops, near to Cambridge Regional College. During the closure, buses will not be serving stops at Cambridge Regional College, the Science Park and Orchard Park in both directions.

The diversion route for cyclists will be via King’s Hedges.
