Castle Hill Open Day with Kettle’s Yard art gallery in Cambridge is back and bigger than ever

Art, dance, jelly fun, castle and knights, gardens and storytelling – discover the arts, heritage and history of one of the oldest parts of Cambridge

After a couple of years off, while Kettle’s Yard was closed for refurbishment, the Castle Hill Open Day is back and will take place on Saturday, July 21, from 12pm to 5pm.

There are new venues and partners involved and more activities than ever before. There will be art, history, dance, heritage, talks, tours, making, eating and fun for all ages.

All venues are open and all events are free for the day. Watch performances by renowned dance theatre company Casson & Friends, go on a herb tour of Murray Edwards Garden, discover archaeological finds from the A14 dig with the Time Truck, discover the history of the people of Cambridge in Histon Road Cemetery and handle armour with the Fitzwilliam Museum.

Ellen Nowak, Castle Hill open day co-ordinator, said: “All of the venues and partners are looking forward to welcoming visitors to the fourth Castle Hill Open Day.

“This is a unique event that celebrates the vibrancy of the Castle Hill area. Whether you’re into making art, relaxing in a deckchair, watching world-class dance performances, sampling street food, or discovering local history, there’s something for you.”
