Celebrating the community of Chesterton with week-long festival
A week-long celebration of the Chesterton community will be marked with a family fun day at Pye's Recreation Ground, off Church Street, on Saturday (June 22).
The fun day will run from 1pm to 5pm and kick off with a children’s procession that will take place around the green and finish in the arena.
Youngsters taking part in the parade are encouraged to dress up as a colour of the rainbow.
The annual Chesterton Festival is this year held between Friday, June 21 and Saturday, June 29.
On Sunday (June 23), St George’s Vicarage and Church will open the doors to its garden between 3pm and 6pm.
From Monday until Friday next week (June 24-28) there will be various events at the recently-revamped Milton Road Library
Coffee mornings with films will be at 10.30am each, with activities for children and young people held each day at 3pm.
There will also be afternoon concerts by Chesterton Community College and Milton Road School, and a programme of evening talks and drama.
On Friday (June 28), the Wild West comes to Brown’s Field Community Centre with an evening of live music and comedy, as well as food and drink including wood-fired pizza, curry and a bar.
