Charitable pop-up It’s Not Called Anything to launch in empty shop space in Lion Yard, Cambridge
Gabriella, a 19-year-old girl from Cambridgeshire, is launching It’s Not Called Anything (INCA), a charitable pop-up, in an empty shop space in Lion Yard, Cambridge, this Saturday (July 15).
The event, which will feature several young creative clothing companies, thrift and bake sale activities, music and talks, runs from 11am-5pm.
It is to raise funds following the recent death of Gabriella’s childhood friend Maggie, who bravely fought Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma at 17 years old.
Prior to her death, Gabriella was raising money for Maggie’s treatment, and now the funds raised will go to Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, which served Maggie and her family so well, and to the Margaret Adcock Foundation, which her parents are starting in her name to support underprivileged children in the Philippines (Maggie and Gabriella are both half-Filipino).
The event also serves as the launch of Gabriella’s social network platform for young creative people across Cambridgeshire and beyond. She has been working on the project for the last six months.
The platform aims to connect, educate, inspire and support young creative people and their journey into the adult world. The online portal for the platform is at: community.itsnotcalledanything.com.
Over the next few years, Gabriella plans to develop this platform into a place for young creative people to get together and thrive.
