Community learns more about the plans for Hartree development




Discussions over the new Hartree development continued with an event at Orchard Park last Saturday (September 23).

TOWN and LandsecU+I, the joint masterplanners for the project, have launched a consultation on the site previously known as the ‘Core Site North East Cambridge’, where 5,600 homes, shops, workplaces, education, community and leisure facilities, and open spaces are planned across 48 hectares of brownfield land.

Frances Wright, head of community partnering at TOWN, said: “At several events across the city, we have talked to hundreds of people in Cambridge about what they would like to see on site, building on the feedback we received at the design festival held last year.

“All the feedback we receive is being fed into our project team as they refine the masterplan, which will be subject to planning.

“Our programme of engagement is ongoing, and we are looking forward to continuing conversations with the community as we head towards a planning application in late 2024.”
