Concrete Rose celebrates five years of supporting young people with Cambridge Junction event
Concrete Rose, a Cambridge-based social enterprise supporting care-experienced and estranged young people aged 16-25, is to celebrate its fifth anniversary.
The event will coincide with the inaugural National Supported Lodgings Week and will take place on Thursday, 13 November, at the Cambridge Junction.
Since its founding, Concrete Rose has provided vital accommodation and pastoral support to vulnerable young people in Cambridgeshire, both through its supported lodgings scheme – where young people live in the homes of host families – and its mentoring scheme.
The evening will feature live performances, guest speakers, stories from young people, food and entertainment.
It will bring together members of the Concrete Rose community, including young people, volunteers, supporters, local dignitaries, and representatives from the wider Supported Lodgings National Network.
It also aims to shine a national spotlight on the importance of supported lodgings as a life-changing intervention for young people ‘at-risk’ of homelessness.
Mike Farrington, operations lead and founder of Concrete Rose, said: “This event is more than just a celebration – it’s a moment to highlight our phenomenal young people, hosts, mentors, volunteers and supporters and reflect on the way the broader community can bring about lasting social impact.
“We’re delighted to have reached the five-year milestone but are already looking forward to the next chapter, starting with a powerful night of storytelling, creativity, connection, and, of course, cake!”
Concrete Rose is inviting businesses to join as headline sponsors. Anyone interested should contact Mike at mike@concreterose.co.uk. For more information, visit concreterose.co.uk.
