The site at the Abbey Leisure Centre will increase access to testing for those living central Cambridge and those without cars.

Until now, the nearest testing centre has been the Milton Road Park & Ride site, which is a drive-through facility only.

Cambridgeshire County Council said those attending must have an appointment. You can book a test online by calling 119.

The mobile testing unit will form part of the national track and trace system, and has been commissioned nationally by the Department of Health and Social Care.
