Arrest after cyclist seriously injured in collision outside Peterhouse Technology Park in Cambridge
A cyclist from Fulbourn suffered serious injuries in a crash outside the Peterhouse Technology Park in Cambridge last night (Sunday, 24 November).
Officers and paramedics were called to Fulbourn Road at about 6.20pm after a black BMW was involved in a collision with a green e-bike. The driver failed to stop at the scene and the car was later found abandoned in Lime Kiln Road.
The e-bike rider, a 45-year-old woman from Fulbourn, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital suffering from serious injuries.
A 32-year-old man, from Cambridge, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop at a road traffic collision and perverting the course of justice.
Detective Sergeant Craig Wheeler, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the collision, or who may have seen the black BMW heading towards Lime Kiln Road, especially if you have any dashcam footage at the time.”
