Cyclist suffers serious injuries in Ely crash where driver left scene




A cyclist suffered serious injuries in a collision where the driver of the car involved left the scene.

The cyclist was involved in a collision with a grey car in Lynn Road, Ely, heading towards Cambridge Road.

The driver of the car, a white man, initially stopped, but then left the scene without providing his details or reporting what happened.

Paramedics attended the scene and the cyclist, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. He remains in hospital.

Anyone who witnessed what happened, or who has information, should call 101 and ask to speak to Det Sgt Shona Birkby from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
